Phobia Treatment

Overcoming phobias at INSIGHT HYPNOTHERAPY CLINIC

Imagine life without being afraid...
Hypnosis is best known for removing fear and phobias.
A phobia is a 'conditioned response' that is both irrational and limiting.

What is the difference between a fear and a phobia?

Fear is a normal human emotional reaction which occurs whenever we sense an actual danger signal or are confronted with something unknown which we perceive to be dangerous. A degree of fear is natural and can keep us safe from harm.

A phobia is a fear which is so intense, it can adversely affect a person’s life as they seek to avoid any situation where they might be confronted with the feared object or situation, and make unrealistic interpretations about the potential danger involved. Examples of such phobias include a fear of flying, public speaking, heights, enclosed spaces, insects, and there are many, many more, including some very unusual ones.

In cases of severe phobias, the response to the stimulus is automatic and happens at a subconscious level so cannot be consciously controlled. Phobias are learned behaviours, usually either passed on from parents or significant adults in our lives, often subconsciously, or are the result of a distressing experience which has created an ‘anchor’ or ‘trigger’ to the stimulus. The good news is that any fears or phobias which have been learned, can also be un-learned!

Do you fear spiders? Pigeons? Cats or dogs? Needles? Heights? Maybe you fear social situations like parties?
The list of phobias is endless...

Because phobias are a programmed response in the mind, they can be treated effectively with hypnotherapy .
The fear is gently removed (no aversion tactics!) leaving you feeling calm and in control.
